Or certainly the animal-lover.. this was sent around the office this morning as a playlist -though only the first will play in a frame here. However, if you fancy going “nooooo” while breathing in sharply… the link to the whole list is at the end.

Given my driving record of late in relation to pheasants on the way into work – the reason behind this compilation – it’s probably going to be best if I leave the race car driving to the xbox – dead kangaroos and rabbits aren’t the best accessories for a car.

There’s not many instances where xbox accessories could stop you getting arrested but this has to be the highlight in a very short list.guitar hero 3

Police in Port Clinton, Ohio charged Robert Snively with disorderly conduct after he disturbed his neighbours – by rocking a bit too hard and loud on Guitar Hero, at 1:30 AM!

Because it’s now a repeat conviction for Mr Snively, the 33-year-old will now be heading to court.  The man went on to explain to police that he’d gotten so loud and excited because he was playing a friend online. I really, really, can’t see a judge accepting the explanation that his mate was kicking his ass at Foghat’s “Slow Ride.”

Now, I don’t know what Port Clinton or even Ohio is like, but surely there’s a complete lack of common sense in play here. If it’s 1 am, isn’t it fairly obvious that your neighbours are gonna be sleeping?

It’s not a case of not playing into the early hours – every gamer has done it – but have some sense; get some xbox headphones! If you wouldn’t listen to the music at that hour what makes you think it’s a good idea to pretend to play it? Yeah they may not look too great but the ol’ tiny plastic guitar controller isn’t exactly the hottest fashion accessory either.

You may remember that I recently bought myself an early Christmas present in the form of some Xbox headphones. I have no quibbles with them and have been enjoying playing without complaints about volume since and am constantly enveloped in game noise.

As anyone who’s played online will tell you, one of the ‘pleasures’ that accompanies killing strangers is the noise of 12 year old American kids complaining at you in rather undignified ways.

I don’t think I could put it all as nicely as this article entitled “Top Ten Things We’ve Learned From Our Xbox Live Headset” manages to with a good quota of hilarity.

I especially like number 9 which points out your Daddy “…was born many years after you. Anyone you encounter on Xbox Live may well be in possession of a time machine, and his shrill, preadolescent insults should be received with appropriate respect. Filial piety demands that you let him take your head off with a needlegun.”

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been about to respond factually when asked “who’s your daddy?!” or even told that my father is, in fact, not my daddy, and my actual daddy is at least a decade and a half younger than me (judging by the pitch of his voice).

All good fun and part of attraction of online gaming. Without it would platforms have evolved so far?

Having been told this morning that the mother-in-law seems to think that there’s constantly a war taking place (courtesy of World at War, strangely enough) when she calls the house – there’s always a delay between hitting mute or pause when the phone’s picked up – I’ve had to order a pair of wireless headphones myself rather than wait until Christmas.

Doing my homework again, via the xbox forums I’ve bitten the bullet and gone for a pair of Turtle Beach Earforce X3s. LimeXB is the only site I could then them on for the UK and the forum buzz is all positive. With any luck I’ll be submerged in a private world war any day now with one less thing to be nagged over.

It’s that time of year again, when I start trying to get hints from beloved and relatives for Christmas gifts and they start outright asking me what I’d like (I admit it, I’m a real pain to buy for).

This year it’s simple. One of my gifts-for-self this year was an XBox 360. Yes, I know: I waited long enough. It’s certainly true that it has kept me from logging in a full 8 hours sleep at night and that I don’t think I got any sleep at all during the first weekend it nestled beneath my tv.

In keeping with my addiction to gadgets and add-ons and accessories my Christmas wish list this year is going to consist primarily of Xbox Accessories like these. Pleeeease Santa, I’ve been a good boy. A pair of the X3 Wireless Headphones would keep the neighbours from banging on the wall too.

Now, given that I’m notoriously bad on picking up on hints, how do you know (without simply asking) what to get others?
